Trucking Accident in O’Fallon, MO

On Sunday March 1st, one person was killed in a serious accident that shut down I-70 eastbound.  The Missouri Highway Patrol says that a car was in an accident with a semi-truck slightly east of Bryan Road.  The person driving the car was killed, but the condition of the truck driver has not been reported.   Traffic had to be re-routed while the crash was being investigated.

Pedestrian Injuries in the City of St. Louis

A man was hit by a car and killed in the 1600 block of Castle Drive around 8pm Tuesday, April 14th.  Police say that 42-year-old, Elijah Brooks was killed by a hit-and-run driver in a black Pontiac Grand Prix while crossing Goodfellow.  The car was traveling southbound from Natural Bridge.  Sadly, Mr. Brooks was pronounced dead at the scene.  Just 3 days before this, another man was fatally injured by a car on Natural Bridge.

In 2014, it was reported that 7 pedestrians were injured by vehicles in the city.  Already this year, KMOV-TV has reported that 8 St. Louis pedestrians have been hit by vehicles, and of those, 4 of the victims have suffered fatal injuries.

Police Chase Injures Three People in St. Louis, MO

Following a police chase, 3 people were hurt in a crash just north of downtown.  The police were chasing a 2006 Ford Explorer that was stolen from the Metro East.  The driver crossed the Stan Musial Bridge in St. Louis before hitting a 2015 Toyota highlander.  The Highlander hit a fence at the intersection of 10th and O’Fallon.  Three people were injured and were transported to hospitals.  The victims were a woman and a man, both 55, and another man, 27.  The suspect left the scene on foot.  Police could not locate him after a search of the area.  However, the investigation led police to the 28-year-old, suspect, who was taken into custody.  The investigation is ongoing.

Fatal Collision in St. Louis

A woman from St. Louis County was killed last month after her car was hit by an SUV near O’Fallon Park.  59-year-old Sandra Washington was thrown out of her Chevy Malibu at Rosalie Street and Fair Avenue.  She was pronounced dead at the scene.  Witnesses say the driver of the SUV that hit Washington didn’t even stop. After the crash, the SUV hit a building at the intersection.  It finally stopped just down the street.

The 18-year-old male who was driving the SUV tried to flee on foot, but was later caught.  He was hospitalized in stable condition.
